To cap off our full 50 days in the Sermon on the Mount, find 15-30 minutes or so today to read slowly and meditatively through the entire Sermon again (Matthew 5-7).
Let the things we’ve practiced and learned together resonate as you read the Sermon. Turn your meditation into prayer and praise and enjoy the presence of Jesus.
Next Sunday (Nov 29) begins our foray into what is called The Cycle of Light, comprising the seasons of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany. We’ll be meditating on the meaning and significance of the Incarnation. We’re looking forward to a very rich time together.

1Two of the major themes I’ve taken away from this are (simplified) 1. we should worry about pleasing God and not people, and 2. God wants us to act out our faith.
Others that people have discovered?

2Ryan! Good to hear from you. I’ve switched to nights. I think for me, more than ever, I gained a deeper realization of the beauty of the context of Jesus’s words in the sermon on the mount. They mean so much more when you understand the big picture. (I always think of this when I think sermon on the mt.

4I have been reminded about how serious Jesus seems to be about spiritual formation – being truly transformed from the inside out to reflect the image of God to a broken, needy world.
